Store Employee Steals Cash and More Car Break-ins

The following information was provided by the Danvers Police Department. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

The following excerpts are from reports in the Danvers Police Department press log from Aug. 20-22.

Tuesday, Aug. 20

  • 5:11 p.m. Report of a motor vehicle accident at the corner of Poplar Street and Shetland Road with personal injuries. Police said it was a rear-end collision.
  • 5:38 p.m. Report of a car window that was smashed during a domestic incident outside Dick's Sporting Goods.
  • 6 p.m. Report of a larceny under $250 at Kohl's. Police said an employee allegedly stole cash from the store.
  • 9:02 p.m. Report of a larceny at Walmart.

Wednesday, Aug. 21

  • 8:05 a.m. Report of a non-residential break-in on High Street. Police said a saw was stolen.
  • 10:49 a.m. Detective Robert Sullivan reported he was conducting a follow-up investigation to a theft of catalytic converters.
  • 1:31 p.m . Report of a larceny at Walmart.
  • 3:41 p.m. Report of a road rage incident on Treetops Lane.
  • 5:26 p.m. A caller at a William Street apartment reported a larceny.
  • 7:06 p.m. David O'Connor, 29, of Woburn, was arrested, following a report of suspicious activity on Coolidge Road. He was charged with illegal possession of a knife.
  • 8:38 p.m. Report of a shoplifting at Claire's Boutique in the mall.
  • 9:45 p.m. Police reported recovering a stolen motor vehicle at Days Inn.

Thursday, Aug. 22

  • 7:34 a.m. Report of malicious damage to a home on Ryan Road. Police said the house was hit by paintballs.
  • 7:55 a.m. Report of an erratic operator in a Jeep on Maple Street.
  • 12:03 p.m. Report of a car accident at the corner of Cherry and Putnam streets involving personal injuries.
  • 4:49 p.m. Report of a domestic incident at a Conant Street apartment. Police said one person was hit with a bottle.
