Hydrant Flushing Expected to Finish Next Week

Water main hydrant flushing, which began in April, continues this week.

Currently, the town is flushing the section of Danvers bounded by Route 62 on the north, between Pine Street and Route 128, Pine Street on the west, Route 128 on the east and Peabody on the south.

Starting on Thursday night, May 8, the town will be flushing all streets east of Route 128 to the Beverly and Peabody town lines in the Danversport area.

A combination of work day hours (7 a.m. to 3 p.m.) and nighttime hours (8 p.m. to midnight) will be used to complete the program. The entire town hydrant flushing is expected to be finished by next Wednesday.

You may notice some discoloration of the water when first used. Please run your cold water first for a few minutes to clear out any discoloration. It should clear up on its own within one hour. Any lasting problems should be reported to the Water Division at 978-762-0230.
