Newest Engine Still At Home During Driveway Work

The town of Danvers' newest fire truck is still able to be housed in its station while driveway work in conducted.

For the past several weeks, the front driveway at has been torn up.

A Danvers Patch user asked whether that meant the engine typically stationed there has to remain outside or be housed at a different station.

The station, on Maple Street across from , is the department’s second station, in addition to the downtown on High Street. Station 2 is home to department’s newest engine, Engine 2, .

The KME-made engine , 45, who passed away in March after a two year fight against melanoma.

The driveway on Station 2 is being repaved . And while the work is being done, Acting Fire Chief James McPherson Jr. said Engine 2 will still be comfortably at home in Station 2.

“There is a rear door at this facility that we are currently using,” McPherson said.
