Outdoor Sprinklers Now Only Allowed on Certain Days in Danvers

The town has moved to the next level of seasonal water restrictions.

The town announced Tuesday morning it is moving to the next level of seasonal water restrictions in Danvers.

Public Works Program Coordinator Gail Bernard said Level 3 drought conditions allow for outdoor lawn and garden watering with sprinklers and/or irrigation systems only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

And that's only between 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. on those days. Watering by hand with a nozzled hose or watering can is fine at any time, and you can also wash your car when you'd like.

The water restrictions will likely increase as usual over the summer and the town is asking residents to watch for those changes.

Any updates will be announced on message boards posted throughout Danvers, local cable access television, the town website, the Danvers DPW Facebook page and local news outlets.
