Perplexing Hiccups Hit the Aggie

Students at the Essex Agricultural School have reported multiple cases of what is now unexplained hiccups from some students.

Health officials are still trying to determine the orgin of some mysterious hiccups in some students at Essex Agricultural and Technical High School, reports the Salem News and WBZ-TV.

The condition involves about a dozen students with "mysterious vocal tics or hiccups," the news reports.

Superintendent-Director Roger Bourgeois said as soon as school officials became aware of the condition they contacted local and state health officials, he told the News.. No clear-cut explanation has been offered as to the cause.
