Power Knocked Out at Cherry Hill for Two Hours Monday

Power went out to several businesses in both Beverly and Danvers on Monday morning.

An equipment problem outside a Cherry Hill Drive business on Monday morning knocked out power to the entire office park for a time.

The problem was with an elbow inside a junction cabinet feeding the transformer at Medtronic at 37 Cherry Hill Drive in Danvers, according to Hamid Jaffari, Director Engineering and Operations for Danvers Electric.

It failed and electricity was cut to all of the office park, in both Beverly and Danvers for about two hours, starting at about 9 a.m.

Power was back on by lunchtime and crews continue to make repairs near Medtronics on Monday. It’s unknown what caused the elbow to fail, Jaffari said.
