Repairs Underway on Maple Street Water Main Break

A water main break cut service to a small number of homes on Wednesday afternoon.

The five homes that lost water service on Wednesday afternoon because of a water main break are expected to have service restored by 8 p.m.

The break of a 12-inch line occurred near the intersection of Maple and Vineyard streets. In addition to five homes, the break also affected one fire hydrant.

Workers from the town’s Water Division were making repairs, as of 4:30 p.m., according to Bob Lee, the DPW’s director of operations. Lee said he expects the line will be repaired and water service restored by about 8 p.m.
