Town Officials Say Several Violations in Latest Alcohol Sting

Police and underage operatives routinely perform random liquor law compliance checks at all establishments in town that serve or sell alcohol.

Danvers Police Chief Neil Ouellette is scheduled to appear before the Board of Selectmen Tuesday night to report on the latest alcohol sting in town.

Police and undercover operatives, often underage students, perform random compliance checks throughout the year at all establishments in town that serve or sell alcohol.

Town Manager Wayne Marquis informed selectmen at their last meeting that he was made aware of several potential violations that occurred or were discovered during the sting.

He anticipated asking the board this Tuesday, after hearing Ouellette's report, to schedule disciplinary hearings in January. The board meets at 7 p.m. in the Toomey Room at Town Hall.
