Water Ban Still in Effect for Danvers

Towns are required to limit water usage to 3.8 million gallons per day during the months of May 1 to October 1.

In case you were wondering, the seasonal water ban in town is still in effect, at least until Oct. 1.

The Department of Public Works notified residents watering restrictions were increasing to Level 4 back in July due to the low flow of the Ipswich River.

Level 4 means outdoor lawn and garden watering is limited to just two days -- Tuesday and Saturday -- and only between 7 and 10 p.m.

The state Department of Environmental Protection regularly institutes a mandatory cap on water usage from the Ipswich River Basin during the summer months. Towns are required to limit water usage to 3.8 million gallons per day from May 1 to Oct. 1.

You can also check the DPW's Facebook page and the town website for regular updates on the water situation.
