Water Main Break on Hobart Closes Road; 11 Homes With No Water for Short Time

A DPW crew was cleaning up the site and repairing a small section of roadway that was dug up to fix the water main break around noontime.

A water main break on Hobart Street Thursday morning shut down one section of the street and left 11 homes without water for a short time.

According to a resident, the break occurred around 10 a.m. By noontime, a Danvers Public Works crew was still on scene and the road was closed to traffic from Pickering Street to Wadsworth Street.

DPW Water & Sewer Supervisor Aaron Cilluffo said the break was due to a crack in the pipe and was not a major incident.

He said the crew on scene was just cleaning up the work area and repairing a small section of the road that had to be dug up.

The break itself was close to the corner of Hobart and Pickering streets.
