Weekend Happenings Include Trucks and Football

1. FALCONS FOOTBALL VS. PEABODY

Where/When: ; Friday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: After a season opening 23-18 win over Winthrop, the Falcons football team takes on North Shore rivals Peabody at home on Friday night.

2. TRUCK DAY

Where/When: ; Saturday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: Truck Day is always popular for kids and, let’s be honest, truck lovers of all ages. There will everything from dump trucks to fire trucks on display. Several thousand people have attended Truck Day events in the past. It’s being billed as “bigger and better than the trucks in the sandbox.”

3. FAMILY FARM DAY

Where/When: , Hamilton and Ipswich; Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: It’s a short jaunt up to Appleton Farms to spend a day on the farm for the family at the Trustees of the Reservation property. There will be barnyard animals, pony rides plus music and plenty of food. A 4H calf show and dog agility demonstration will also be part of the fun.

Pricing: Trustees members $20 per car, Nonmembers $25 per car

Where/When: , 55 Ober St., Beverly; Sunday, 10 a.m.

Why Go: The third annual race is a fundaiser for the Salem Sound Coastwatch Adopt-A-Beach program, which works to keep North Shore beaches clean. There’s also a kids half mile long hill challenge and also a touch tank, music and raffles.

Where/When: ; Sunday, 5 p.m.

Why Go: On the third Sunday of each month, Calvary Episcopal Church offers a special service that includes pets. All faiths are welcome to the service, which includes a complete service with Eucharist and Homily. Pets must be on a leash.
