Danvers High Students To Participate in Statewide Job Shadow

Danvers High students were invited to the 2nd Annual Statewide Biotechnology Job Shadow Day among 17 other public high schools participating.

Danvers High School students were invited to participate in the 2nd Annual Statewide Biotechnology Job Shadow Day, tomorrow, June 7. 

The 650 students attending come from 17 public schools across Massachusetts, and will be shadowing biotechnology professionals from 19 local biotech companies and research institutions in 20 different locations. Danvers High Students will be job shadowing at Airgas East Inc., in Billerica

"The 2nd Annual Statewide Biotechnology Job Shadow Day aims to allow students to learn more about the fascinating and diverse career options that exist within the life sciences and encourage them to consider further STEM education," the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council said in press release.

At the job shadow, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m, students will participate in company tours, attend a career-related panel presentation, have one-on-one meetings with life science professionals and a have a networking lunch.

The Massachusetts Biotechnology Education Foundation is a part of the Massachusetts Biotechnology Council, which  "facilitates connections between students and life science professionals." For more information about the event, visit their homepage at MassBio.org
