Participate in Danvers Public Schools Survey

is inviting residents to weigh in on how well the district is educating their children, how familiar they are with district leadership, and their awareness levels surrounding budgetary issues.

As it launches a ‘Perspectives on the School District’ survey on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, Danvers is engaging all community members and increasing involvement in discussions on how to navigate through the challenging times that lie ahead. Working once again with independent research and communication firm K12 Insight, the survey is a key component of the district’s strategic plan.

“We are now in the fourth year of our five-year strategic plan, which is our roadmap for increasing student achievement and includes yearly goals and success measures,” said Dr. Lisa Dana, Superintendent of Schools. “Everyone has a role in helping us provide our students with the best possible education.”

The survey will be available through a link on the district website at http://www.danvers.mec.edu. Parents, staff and community members who have provided the district with their email addresses will receive an email invitation to participate, but the survey is open to all Danvers residents. Computer labs at district schools will also be prepared to allow access to the survey. Any parent without access to the Internet may request a paper survey by calling Theresa Stablewski at (978) 777-4539 ext. 2431. The goal is to ensure widespread participation and feedback.

The survey also focuses on district operations, information sources and progress made toward meeting strategic plan goals. Once the survey has closed on Wednesday, April 25, the district will close the loop by sharing results with the community.

“The feedback we receive will be used to inform our future plans,” said Dana. “These ongoing conversations with the Danvers community contribute to transparent and collaborative decision-making, helping us develop high performing teams that focus on teaching and learning.”
