State Performing Regular Review of Danvers Schools

The review will focus on the schools' special education and English language learner programs, as well as its civil rights policy.

Danvers resident who would like to be interviewed by the state Department of Elementary and Secondary Education about the Danvers Public Schools have until Thursday to sign up.

The state will visit Danvers on April 28 as part of a regular review, reported The Boston Globe.

The review will focus on the schools’ special education and English language learner programs, as well as its civil rights policy. Education officials will review “individual student records; interview administrators, teachers, and paraprofessional staff; survey parents; and observe instructional spaces,” reported The Boston Globe.

The superintendent and School Committee will receive a review and the district will need to “propose corrective actions” if the schools are not meeting any requirements.
