Danvers High Football Coach Sean Rogers Resigns

Rogers steps down after seven seasons with the team, four as head coach.

After four seasons, Sean Rogers is stepping down from his post as head coach of the Danvers Falcons' football team.

The Salem News reports Rogers tendered his resignation Tuesday, saying it was a "bittersweet" decision. It's also a high point for his tenure, having just won the team's first conference title in eight years this fall and finally making it back to the playoffs.

Rogers is a health education teacher at Danvers High and coaches outdoor track as well. He had also spent three years as an assistant football coach under now Athletic Director John Sullivan.
