What You Need to Know for Thanksgiving Day Football: Danvers at Gloucester

This is the 50th meeting of the two North Shore teams on Thanksgiving.

The Falcons visit the Fishermen on the gridiron again Thursday morning, hoping to upset Gloucester's reign. After all, Danvers did win the Northeastern Conference South Division this year and finished up with a slightly better record -- 7-3 versus 6-4.

Here are five things you should know about the big game.

  1. Kickoff is slated for 10 a.m. on Thursday. Tickets are $10.
  2. The Fishermen play at Newell Stadium at Gloucester High School, located at 32 Leslie O Johnson Rd. in Gloucester.
  3. Danvers has only defeated Gloucester on Thanksgiving four times in the past 20 years (the last time was 2004). The Fishermen are hoping to extend their current winning streak to nine.
  4. Gloucester leads the Thanksgiving series, which dates back to 1964, 34-15.
  5. Danvers has nine seniors playing their last game: Tom Quinn, Brian Daly, Adam Tibbetts, Lucas Lentine, Anthony Cordoba, Alex Valles, Mike Favreau, Jason Tibbetts and Andy Curtin.
