Looking for something to do this weekend? Here's 5 ideas in Danvers or very close by.

Get a clean car, take a walk in the woods and hear about one man’s story from the Witchcraft Hysteria – it is all on the weekend calendar here in Danvers.

Why Go: This is the latest in Danvers Bi-Peds monthly walks to explore open spaces in Danvers. The walk/hike will last one to two hours over easy to moderate trails. Organizers suggest you wear sturdy shoes and bring bug spray. Refreshments will be provided.

2. CAR WASH BY DANVERS HIGH SCHOOL FALCON BAND AND PARENTS FOR MUSIC EDUCATION

Where/When: ; Saturday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.

Why Go: This is a great deal to get a clean car while helping out young local musicians at at the same time. Firestone Tire and Service is located in front of the .

Pricing: $5

Where/When: Birch Plains Field, Beverly; Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: This has become a summertime tradition on a relatively new field in North Beverly, on the east side of Beverly Airport. The field is so close to Danvers that you can almost see Danvers from it. Nonetheless, kite enthusiast Archie Stewart shows up to teach kids how to build and fly and kite and shows off some of his own kites.

Pricing: $5 per child for a kite

Where/When: ; Saturday and Sunday, tours on the hour  10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: Who was George Jacobs? This weekend find out who he was and the important role he played in the Witchcraft Hysteria of 1692. At 81 years old he was the eldest victim to be executed during the hysteria. He’s buried in the burial ground at the Nurse Homestead. Both days this weekend tours will be offered at the homestead to tell the detailed story of Jacobs’ and his family.

Pricing: $7 adults; $5 seniors and $4 children $4. Free to Rebecca Nurse Homestead Preservation Society members.

5. MUSIC AT EDEN’S EDGE: AUGUST FOREVER ROMANTIC

Where/When: Archer residence, 10 North St.; Saturday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Music at Eden’s Edge comes to a new and unique local location at the home of local philanthropist John Archer. The performance is billed as an “exciting and passionate evening on the wild side of classical music” featuring works by Ernst von Dohnanyi, Johannes Brahms and Bedrich Smetana.

Pricing: $20, general admission; $15 students; $18 seniors and $55 for a family
