Monday Essentials: This Week Marks 12 Years Since 9/11

Here's what you need to know to get your week started in Danvers.

Today is Monday, Sept. 9. Here's a look at the week ahead in Danvers.

  1. Preschool with the Danvers Public Schools opens for the fall on Monday.
  2. The Danvers School Committee has its next meeting on Monday and will be settling in at the Mills Communication Center (Room E105) at the high school. The meeting starts at 7 p.m. You can find a copy of the agenda here.
  3. Other town board meetings this week: The Historic District Commission meets Monday (7 p.m.) in the Archival Center at the library, the Zoning Board of Appeals meets Monday (7 p.m.) at Town Hall. You can find the agenda here. The Planning Board meets Tuesday (7 p.m.) at the Senior Center (agenda here) and the Conservation Commission meets Thursday at Town Hall.   4. Signup to become a Danvers Girl Scout this fall. There's an informational event scheduled for Tuesday (7 p.m.) at the Holten-Richmond Middle School.
  5. 9/11: The 12th anniversary of Sept. 11 terrorist attacks of 2001 is this Wednesday.
  6. Danvers High football hosts Beverly this week (Friday, 7 p.m.). The Falcons are 0-1 after losing to Marblehead in the season opener last Friday.
