Who's the Fastest Rubber Ducky Around?

The annual rubber duck race hosted by the Kiwanis Club of Danvers is this Saturday.

It's a time-honored tradition. Rain or shine, hundreds of rubber ducks will be dropped into the Porter River next to Popes Landing Saturday for the 20th Annual Danvers Kiwanis Rubber Duck Race.

The race starts at 2 p.m. with pre-race festivities at 1:30 p.m. (food and games). There are prizes for the top three racers ($1,500, $500 and $300) and 10 runner-ups.

To enter the race, you adopt a duck for $5, or improve your odds by adopting six ducks for $25, or even a whole family of 13 ducks for $50.

Proceeds from the event go toward college scholarships for local students.
