<p>The Housing Authority manages 11 properties in town for low-income, elderly and disabled residents. Developments were built and subsidized either at the state or federal level. The main office is located at 14 Stone St., along with Highland Manor, which provides housing for elderly and disabled residents. More information on income eligibility for public housing can be found online. The DHA Board of Commissioners meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 4:30 p.m. in the conference room of the Community Building on campus. Meetings are open to the public.</p>
<p>Housing for elderly and/or disabled residents is available at the following locations:</p> <p><b>Charter Street</b>, 7 Charter St. An additional two-floor building for 23 units of public housing sits behind the Maple Street School on Maple Street (see below).</p> <hr /> <p><b>Hawkes Manor</b>, 11 Rice St. The two-floor building containing 62 brick, garden apartments was built in 1972 behind the town Electric Department on Burroughs Street.</p> <p><b>Highland Manor</b>, 14 Stone St. Forty, brick, garden style apartments are located in three, two-floor buildings behind the main office and the Senior Center.</p> <p><b>Maple Street School</b>, 80 Maple St. The 100-year-old school building has been converted into 15 units of housing on two floors.</p> <p><b>Perry Terrace</b>, 6 Perry St. The housing project, built in 1960, consists of 25 brick, garden apartments.</p> <p><b>Tapley Manor</b>, 95 Holten St. Yet another 100-year-old school converted into public housing: 40 units with a wing added on. There are four floors and an elevator inside.</p> <p>Family housing is available at the following locations:</p> <p><b>Ash Street</b>, 110 Ash St. The duplex, built around 1990, splits 12 rooms, including six bedrooms, into two units.</p> <p><b>Danversport School</b>, 10 Water St. The century old school has been converted into four two-bedroom units and four three-bedroom units.</p> <p><b>Fellows Street</b>, 35 Fellow St. The duplex, built around 1990, contains two-bedroom units on either side.</p> <p><b>Rand Circle</b>. Thirty-six duplex townhouses are located behind the Danvers Plaza off Route 1 and Conifer Hill Drive. There are 14 three-bedroom units and 10 each of four-bedroom and two-bedroom units. There are also two handicapped units - one with three bedrooms and one with four.</p> <p><b>Stone Street</b>, 19 Stone St. Built around 1992, there is a two-bedroom duplex and a three-bedroom duplex located at the site.</p>
