Just before the last house on the left (driving toward the end of the street) there is an access road leading to the beach. You have to park on McDewell Street or at John George Park, however. There is a sand court for beach volleyball, a field for recreational use and a swing set. Town officials are hoping to expand the beach property as well as John George Park.

The water itself covers 312 acres, leaving 142 acres of surrounding watershed land. Water pumped from the Ipswich River is stored in the Putnamville Reservoir and is drained through a pipeline and into the Wenham Lake Reservoir. The water supply board then drains water from the Wenham site into its treatment plant in Beverly, treats it and stores the converted drinking water in its underground reservoir. The cities of Beverly and Salem separately pump drinking water from this body of water into their own water-distribution systems.
This public marina is owned and operated by the town, providing dockage for 68 vessels up to 25 feet in length. Fuel…More and pump-out services are available from the Danversport Yacht Club Marina. Marina dockage rates for vessels 18-25 feet in length are $56, $59 and $53 per foot for residents, non-residents and commercial vessels, respectively. For vessels 14-17 feet, the rates are $42 and $44 per foot for residents and non-residents only. Mooring owners and individuals occupying dock space at the marina are assessed a slip fee, as well. Slip permits must be obtained annually from the harbormaster's office. The town is not currently permitting new moorings, but those being sold are offered to applicants on a waiting list. There is limited use of power from the shore, restrooms are available, security cameras are on-site and there is coded access to the dock gate. John George Park is also right next door.
