The transfer station is for solid waste only: hazardous materials, appliances, recyclables, chemical and liquid wastes and construction debris are not allowed. Residential trash must come from the residence shown on the driver's license and registration and only non-commercial vehicles are allowed to enter.
There is a tipping fee payable to the Town of Danvers. Car tires are also accepted for a fee, but there's no charge for residential scrap metal. Most hazardous materials can be disposed of for free during the town's annual Household Hazardous Waste Day.
There is a drop-off facility on-site for leaves and other yard waste. No charge for leaves and grass clippings and you need a brush permit from the town. There is also a Universal Waste Shed on-site for mercury products, such as thermometers, thermostats, fluorescent light bulbs and switches. The shed is open during regular business hours.
