The investigation continues into a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian that was crossing Maple Street on Thursday morning.
The driver who struck a pedestrian that was crossing Route 62 on Thursday morning has been issued a traffic ticket. Danvers police said on Thursday afternoon that Gailute Urbonaite-Narkeviciene, 44, of 281 Maple St. was issued a citation for failure to yield in a crosswalk, according to Danvers Police Capt. Patrick Ambrose. Urbonaite-Narkeviciene was driving east on Route 62 in a Lexus sport utility vehicle at the time of the crash with a passenger in the vehicle. Neither of them were injured. The crash happened at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday on a section of Maple Street that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue. A 32-year-old Danvers woman was seriously injured when a vehicle struck her on Thursday morning, Danvers Police said in a post on its Facebook page at 10:15 a.m. The crash occurred on Maple Street, in an area that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue at the foot of Lindall Hill at 7:30 a.m. No charges have been filed in connection with the crash.
