Was Wednesday Morning's Snowstorm Under-Hyped?

For some people, the 4 inches of snow that fell on Wednesday morning was a surprise.

Wednesday's morning's snowstorm was just the second measurable snow of the winter and came at the most inopportune time - smack dab in the middle of the morning commute. Most North Shore schools - including Danvers Public Schools and St. John's Prep - were not cancelled or delayed. Most businesses were open as usual and drivers embarked on their usual commute as the snow was coming down. The slippery roads contributed to about a dozen crashes in Danvers according to the Danvers Police log. None of the accidents were serious or caused any injury, police spokesman Sgt. Icy Conditions Cause Cruiser Crash, Close Road

Icy bridges along Route 1 and I-95 on Saturday night caused several crashes and closed two sections of road on Saturday night.

A quick freezeover on the roads at sunset on Saturday led to several car crashes – including one involving a police cruiser – and closed two small stretches of road for a time. The first was a multiple vehicle crash on Route 1 northbound on the bridge over Route 95 headed in to the Ferncroft Rotary at about 4:15 p.m. Complete details on the number of vehicles that were involved and injuries were not available on Saturday night, but at one point police took a report that 12 cars were involved and three people suffered minor injuries.
