Here's our round up of the area's latest food news: Speaking of ice cream, you are of course aware that Saturday is National Ice Cream For Breakfast Day, right? And Cherry Farm Creamery is throwing a celebration/fundraiser from 8 a.m. to noon. Proceeds benefit the Danvers Dog Park. Plus, you get to have ice cream for breakfast. Did I mention that? Ice Cream Breakfast Benefit Planned for Saturday

This year's "Ice Cream for Breakfast" fundraiser at Cherry Farm Creamery will benefit the Danvers Dog Park.

Maybe you've quietly replaced Cheerios and toast with ice cream once or twice at breakfast time. This Saturday, you won't have to do it secretly and you'll have a great excuse. You can eat ice cream for breakfast in support of the Friends of Danvers Dog Park at Cherry Farm Creamery on Saturday, Feb. 2 for National Ice Cream for Breakfast Day. Cherry Farm will open early at 8 a.m. for the occasion and serving a special “breakfast” menu. The usual hours are noon to 9 p.m. Half of the proceeds of ice cream sales from 8 a.m.-noon will be donated to support the completion of the Danvers Dog Park at Endicott Park. Students to Benefit From New Cherry Farm Ice Cream Flavor

A new ice-cream flavor at Cherry Farm Creamery will benefit North Beverly fifth graders.

For the month of October, North Beverly Elementary fifth graders will benefit from the sale of Shooting Star ice cream at Cherry Farm Creamery.  The Shooting Star flavor, which consists of blue vanilla ice-cream with M&M's and cookie dough, was created by the students two weeks ago, owner Tom Jones said.  While Jones said Cherry Farm usually provides schools with ice-cream during socials, this is the first time a fundraiser will benefit the students.  The ice cream stand will be donating 50 percent of all sales (cones, pints, quarts and sundaes) of the flavor to the school to help the fifth grade class. In the past, Jones said the business created an ice-cream flavor to benefit the Peabody Little League team that went to the Little League …

Cherry Farm hosted their third annual Ice Cream for Breakfast on Feb. 4.

Cherry Farm Creamery opened up shop early on Saturday, Feb. 4 for their third annual Ice Cream For Breakfast special.  Half of all proceeds from the morning were donated to Healing Abuse Working for Chance (HAWC.) Based out of Salem, HAWC provides services and support to victims of domestic violence residing in 23 cities and towns on the North Shore. Special menu items includes:
