The hit and run incident happened on Conant Street just before 11 p.m.
A pedestrian walking across Conant Street was struck in a hit and run following the Danvers Fireworks Festival. Police responded to the scene at 10:54 p.m., and the female victim was transported to Beverly Hospital with minor injuries. Police Captain Patrick Ambrose said the situation is still under investigation.

I remember "pictures" being made too! The flag is definitely the most memorable one, but I haven't seen it attempted for years. I also remember a yellow smiley face. If you're Dean Borders, owner of Maple Street Tavern in Danvers Square, you bring the party to you. Borders said the idea for a fireworks pregame came to him one night over a beer when he thought, "wouldn't it be great to have something outside?" The Tavern, which is set in the middle of a string of shops on the corner of Maple and School Street, has ample space in the private lot directly behind the building, the perfect spot, Borders said, for a party. Fourth of July is around the corner, and calls to police about fireworks in Danvers neighborhoods are already springing up. Last year around this time, we received a letter to the editor titled "Please, No Fireworks," about the problems that come with at home fireworks displays. Like any other activity, one person's fun can be an imposition for another. If you want fireworks, go see the safe variety.
