The Division 3 state championship boys basketball game between the Danvers High School Falcons and Smith Academy Falcons will be covered with a live blog right here on Danvers Patch. The game time has been announced for Saturday's state championship game at the DCU center in Worcester.
The gametime for Saturday's boys basketball Division 3 state championship game is 12:30 p.m. It will be the second time in as many years that the boys basketball team from Danvers High School will be in the state championship. Last year, the Falcons beat St. Joseph's High School. This year, they will face Smith Academy, the western Massachusetts champions. Danvers won the north sectionals. Smith Academy (22-23), whose mascot is also the Falcons, advanced to the championship with a 72-56 win over Littleton. Danvers defeated south sectional champion Martha's Vineyard 50-47 on Tuesday night at TD Garden.

The defending champion Danvers High School boys basketball team heads into the postseason this week.
The Danvers High School boys' basketball team, after a undefeated season in the Northeastern Conference, heads to the post season as the No. 2 seed in the Div. 3 North tournament. The team plays its first-round game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Danvers High School at 7 p.m. versus Greater Lawrence Technical School. The Falcons (18-2) enter the tournament as defending Div. 3 champions after the team's first ever state championship win last year over St. Joseph's. The team went 16-0 in its 2012-13 NEC schedule. The No. 1 seed in Div. 3 North is North Reading, which was the Cape Ann League champion at 20-0.

Danvers rolls into the state finals after earning a convincing win over Wareham at the TD Garden Monday afternoon.
It was all Danvers from start to finish. The Falcons (20-4) knocked around Wareham (24-1) from the opening tip-off, established a 19-point lead in the first quarter and never looked back. 6' 7" senior center George Merry proved too much for the Vikings to handle and dominated the glass on both ends of the court. Wareham never got into a rhythm on offense and struggled from the three-point line all afternoon. The majority of Danvers' points came in the paint until about mid-way through the third quarter, when Nick Bates and Nick McKenna began raining threes from the arc.
