Donna King, Artist All Around

This week's Face About Town is a multi-talented artist who enjoys the arts, being a member of the Danvers Art Association and teaching her craft to children.

Name: Donna King Street: Chase Street         Family: Husband Paul and son Ryan. Donna is also hosting an exchange student from Spain, named Xavier. Occupation: Donna is trained as a fine artist, but has a career in advertising and graphic art. Her main focus is on figure drawing, and more recently she designed Macy’s displays. Ouimette Has Heart, Raising Awareness for CHD

Isabelle Ouimette, Director of It's My Heart, Inc, an organization helping families cope with heart defects is looking forward to their second annual walk this weekend at Endicott Park.

Sheryl Is Turning 50 and Everyone's Invited to Party

Sheryl James is involved in many facets of town, and works hard so we can all enjoy Family Festival events, children's programs and summer concerts. It's now time to celebrate Sheryl!

Meet this week's Danvers Face About Town, Lisa Dettorre.

  Name: Lisa Dettorre         Street: Roosevelt Avenue Family: Wife Crystal, and children Weston, Yvonne and Charlotte. The family also has several pets including dogs, Mya and Rose, a Siamese cat names Quilla, two birds, Larry and Lilly and two guinea pigs, Shadow and Mister T. Lisa Dettorre was adopted and always knew she wanted to help a child in need, and originally thought she would adopt. After having three children of their own, Lisa and her wife Crystal decided to help children by becoming foster parents. They are what are called a Kinship Foster Family, where the family is either a blood relative or knows the child and is bonded to that child and placing a child in a family they know helps ease the transitions they must endure. …

Honoring Foster Care Awareness, Lantych is Raising Little Women

May is National Foster Care Month, and to celebrate we're highlighting foster parents in Danvers making a difference in the lives of children in need.

Hospice Volunteer Danielle Parent Loves Helping Others

Meet this week's Face About Town, Danvers resident Danielle Parent.

Name: Danielle Parent      Street: Park Street Family: Danielle lives with her mom, and her dog Rascal Occupation: Danielle was a pre-school teacher until November, when the school closed its doors. Hobbies:  Danielle loves photography and has photographed a few weddings, although she really enjoys portraiture. Danielle loved doing portraits of the children in the pre-school before it closed. Danielle also volunteers for Hospice of the North Shore. She has been there about a year and will keep vigil with a patient so they do not die alone, or so a family member can take a break. “Both my father and grandmother were in hospice before they passed and that made me want to help others," she said. This week's Face About Town may be a new firefighter in town, but he's no stranger to Danvers.

Susie Turner received a new kidney a little over a year ago from her brother; she is doing well and living life to the fullest, enjoying her grandchild, work and family.
