Report: Tsarnaev Admits to Detonating Marathon Bombs

The Boston Marathon bombings suspect currently hospitalized told FBI agents that he and his brother detonated the bombs near the finish line, the Boston Globe reports.

The Boston Marathon bombing suspect currently hospitalized admitted to FBI agents that he and his brother detonated the bombs planted near the finish line, the Boston Globe reports. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, made the reported admission on Sunday from his bed at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and had not yet been given a Miranda warning, the Globe reported. According to the criminal complaint filed against Tsarnaev, during the carjacking on Thursday night one of the brothers…

The FBI released new details on Tuesday evening on the investigation into the attacks on the Boston Marathon on Monday, but said the investigation is "still in its infancy."

Debris and evidence were found inside stores and along rooftops of buildings in the area, officials said.  "That gives you an idea of the power of the blast," said Special Agent Gene Marquez of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF). The evidence has …

Commercial Break-ins, Disorderly Conduct Calls on the Rise

The 2011 summertime crime trends, as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigations 2010 crime statistics for Danvers and surrounding communities.

In the Summer 2011 edition of the Defender, the Danvers Police Department newsletter, the summer crime analysis trends have shown an increase in commercial break-ins, disorderly conduct, and miscellaneous larceny, and a decrease in vandalism and threats. Theft of scrap metal appears to have caused an increase in both commercial break-ins as well as miscellaneous larceny. Construction sites were noted in both instances as targeted spots for larceny. From June 1 through August 31, the town created a breakdown of the crimes committed in comparison to the usual range.
