Champion Middle School Spellers at the Big Bee

The fourth annual spelling bee for Danvers middle school students went down at the Liberty Tree Mall earlier this month.

The winners of the 4th Annual Holten-Richmond Middle School Spelling Bee are as follows: The Bee was held on March 14 at the Liberty Tree Mall. Danvers Community Access TV still has the video uploaded of the entire contest, which we've included here in this article. The Bee sponsored by the Danvers Educational Enrichment Partnership, People's United Bank, Buffalo Wild Wings, Pet Express, ReginaPizzeria, AMC Liberty Tree Mall 20, Maui Wowi Hawaiian, Scoops Ice Cream, and Sports Authority.

Spelling Bee: The top 45 spellers from Holten-Richmond Middle School will take part in Liberty Tree Mall’s spelling bee on Thursday night. It starts at 6 pm. in the food court. 3. Top Middle School Spellers to Compete at Mall Thursday Evening

Liberty Tree Mall will host the Holten-Richmond MIddle School spelling bee on Thursday.

The top 45 spellers from Holten-Richmond Middle School will take to the stage on Thursday night at Liberty Tree Mall. The mall is hosting its 4th annual spelling bee starting at 6 p.m. in the food court. The school will identify the top 15 spelling contestants for each grade - sixth, seventh and eighth - at the school who will take part in the competition. All 45 contestants will receive “goody bags” and the top three winners will also receive prizes donated by People’s United Bank, according to an announcement from the mall. Baskets created by Thorpe Elementary School students will also be raffled off during the spelling bee, with the proceeds going toward the Thorpe School Library expansion project.

State Rep Candidates Get in Votes on Tuesday Morning

Both candidates for the 13th Essex District seat in the Massachusetts House of Representaives voted at their respective polling places on Tuesday morning.

Both candidates the 13th Essex District in the state House of Representatives, representing Danvers, got their votes in early on Tuesday morning. State Rep. Ted Speliotis (D-Danvers) voted at about 8 a.m. in precinct 3 at the Thorpe Elementary School. He was accompanied by his wife, June and daughter Ashley. Later, Republican challenger Dan Bennett voted in precinct 1 at the Holten-Richmond Middle School at about 9:30 a.m. He was accompanied by several relatives, including his wife Janet and grandchild Ava. Both candidates are locked in a battle for the seat, which in addition to Danvers includes three precincts in West Peabody and about half of Middleton.
