Armed Robbery Reported at Market Basket Saturday Night

The Market Basket in Danvers was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night.

An armed robbery occurred at the Market Basket in Endicott Plaza on Saturday night. It happened at about 7 p.m. The store typically closes at 9 p.m. and remained open afterward. After the robbery was reported, Danvers police searched the area and a State Police helicopter hovered overhead, using a search light to scan the area for a suspect. The suspect was a tall white man in his 40s wearing a grey winter jacket, according to description broadcast to area police departments on Saturday after the robbery.
