A two-car crash on Tuesday night on Route 128 closed a section of the road near Route 62.
A two car crash on Route 128 closed the northbound lanes for nearly an hour on Tuesday night. The crash occurred before 11 p.m. between the exit 22 exit ramp to Route 62 (Elliott Street) and the northbound on-ramp from Route 62. Initial reports from the scene said that there were three people involved in the crash. The driver of one of the vehicle was trapped in their car and had to be freed by the Danvers Fire Department by the Jaws of Life. Lyons ambulance took that person to Beverly Hospital. Two other people were not injured. Further details were not immediately available from State Police on Tuesday night. Icy bridges along Route 1 and I-95 on Saturday night caused several crashes and closed two sections of road on Saturday night.
A quick freezeover on the roads at sunset on Saturday led to several car crashes – including one involving a police cruiser – and closed two small stretches of road for a time. The first was a multiple vehicle crash on Route 1 northbound on the bridge over Route 95 headed in to the Ferncroft Rotary at about 4:15 p.m. Complete details on the number of vehicles that were involved and injuries were not available on Saturday night, but at one point police took a report that 12 cars were involved and three people suffered minor injuries. The Market Basket in Danvers was robbed at gunpoint on Saturday night.
An armed robbery occurred at the Market Basket in Endicott Plaza on Saturday night. It happened at about 7 p.m. The store typically closes at 9 p.m. and remained open afterward. After the robbery was reported, Danvers police searched the area and a State Police helicopter hovered overhead, using a search light to scan the area for a suspect. The suspect was a tall white man in his 40s wearing a grey winter jacket, according to description broadcast to area police departments on Saturday after the robbery. A woman being arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of liquor kicked out the window on a State Police cruiser on Thursday morning.
A woman allegedly kicked out the back window of a State Police cruiser in Danvers early Thursday morning after being arrested for driving under the influence of liquor. The incident happened at 1:38 a.m. on Route 1 northbound at Centre Street. A State Trooper assigned to the Danvers barracks stopped a vehicle at the Centre Street overpass and later arrested the driver, Katie Weismann, 26, of Medford. She was charged with operating under the influence of liquor, assault and battery on a police officer, malicious destruction of property over $250, resisting arrest and marked lanes violation. A crash involving an Audi and box truck closed the exit 49 northbound offramp on I-95 on Tuesday morning while the truck was righted and towed away.
The driver of a box truck received minor injuries after it crashed into a car, flipped on its side and spilled ice on the ground on Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at about 8:15 a.m. on Route 95 northbound at the exit 49 offramp to Route 62 (Maple Street). A 2012 Freightliner truck collided with a 2004 Audi A6 sedan. The 30-year-old man from Marblehead who was driving the truck was taken to Beverly Hospital to be treated for minor injuries. The 23-year-old man from Wakefield who was driving the Audi and his 20-year-old passenger from Revere were both injured even though the Audi was seriously damaged. The Mass. State Police Air Wing, Danvers Police, and Middleton Police have finished a search for an individual near Route 62 and Essex Aggie. At 4 p.m. the individual was apprehended and taken into Danvers Police Custody, State Police spokesman Dave Procopio told Danvers Patch. Essex County Sherriff's Office spokeswoman Barbara Maher said Danvers Police went to CAB Recovery Services on 111 Middleton Rd. earlier this afternoon to serve a warrant. Maher said the individual allegedly fleed the scene and ran into the woods. The situation remains under investigation. Procopio said the warrant was assault-related, out of New Hampshire.
