Reward Upped to Find Hit-and-Run Driver, Victim Offers First Interview

The family of a Danvers native who was struck and seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in South Carolina last year has increased its reward in a quest to locate the driver.

The family of a Danvers native who was struck and seriously injured outside the South Carolina hospital where she was working in September has upped the reward amount to find the driver of the vehicle that hit her, reports WTOC in South Carolina. The family of Lindsay Bires, 24, said last week that the reward now stands at $15,000 for information about the person who was driving a vehicle that struck her outside Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, S.C. The reward had started at $5,000. The only information that is available about the car that struck her was that it was small and white and possibly has damage to the front right side. It fled after hitting her and surveillance cameras at the hospital have not provided any further details. …

Danvers Native in Critical Condition After Being Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in S.C.

A 2006 graduate of Danvers High School is in serious condition in a South Carolina hospital after being struck by a hit-and-run driver last weekend.

A Danvers native is in critical condition with brain trauma after being struck by a hit-and-run driver last weekend in South Carolina, according to a report by WIS-TV. Lindsay Bires, 24, is a 2006 Danvers High School graduate, according to her Facebook page. She recently moved to South Carolina with her boyfriend for work as a nurse, her boyfreind, Dan Powers, told the TV station. She works at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia and was standing on a sidewalk near the hospital at 3 a.m. on Sunday when she was struck, WIS reported. The only description of the vehicle was a small, white compact car. Family members told the station she has brain trauma.
