Police Investigating an Alleged Armed Robbery Sunday Morning

The robbery took place at the Comfort Inn.

Danvers Police are investigating a report of an armed robbery at the Comfort Inn early Sunday morning.  As of 9:30 a.m. Sunday morning, Lt. Carole Germano said the incident remained under investigation and officers were still on the scene. Germano said no other information could be released at that time. According to scanner reports, a man in a pickup truck outside the Dayton Street motel told a woman "he had a gun and would use it" before robbing her.  Danvers Patch will have more information as it becomes available. 

Danvers Man Killed In Early Morning Accident

A 36-year-old man was killed early Sunday morning.

A 36-year-old Danvers man was killed in a crash early Sunday morning. According to State Police, the single car accident occurred at 3:18 a.m. on Route 1 South, at Ferncroft Road.  Route 1 South was closed until 5:18 a.m, police said. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of the man's next of kin.  The accident is under the investigation of the State Police.

Two Male Danvers Teens, ‘Prowlers,’ Arrested for Trespassing

Police arrested two Danvers males, 15 and 14, after they were caught trespassing in the parking lot of a condominium complex where they were looking at parked cars. Police believe they were attempting to break into some of the vehicles.

May 12 Vincenzo Valenti, 20, of 15 Crane Ave., Peabody, was arrested at Best Buy at 7:36 p.m. for shoplifting. Valenti was also charged with five counts of larceny under $250 for past thefts at Target. See related story. May 13 Employees at Hyundai Village reported at 9:05 a.m. that the flag flying outside the dealership was stolen overnight. They said the theft occurred sometime between 9 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The flag was taken down by cutting the cord on the flagpole. See related story. A 25-year-old Lynn woman was issued a summons for driving with a revoked license after a motor vehicle stop on Endicott Street near the Liberty Tree Mall entrance at 10:23 a.m. Police said the woman appeared to be texting on her cell phone, although she …

Police Find Drunk Man in Marina Parking Lot

Police arrested a 27-year-old Danvers man who they found heavily intoxicated in the parking lot of Bunky’s Marina. The man was taken into custody, however, because he had a warrant out for his arrest from Salem.
