Cakes For Occasions has helped with recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Irene by auctioning four gourmet cakes to benefit the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. The auction, which saw dozens of bids before the weekend of the storm, raised $750 for relief efforts. "The hurricane was a very unfortunate incident but we decided to try and turn it around by doing something good for the community," said Cakes for Occasions owner Kelly Delaney in a press release. "The Red Cross is a fantastic organization that helps those that need it most during difficult times."
