UPDATED: SUV Driver That Snapped Utility Pole Allegedly Drunk

A car crash on Elliott Street early Friday morning snapped an utility pole.

The driver of a Mercedes sport utility vehicle that smashed through an utility pole early Friday morning on Elliott Street was allegedly drunk, according to State Police. Michael Enes Sr., 62, of 7 Elm Top Lane in Beverly, faces charges of driving under the influence of liquor, marked lanes violation and operating to endanger, according to State Trooper Nicole Morrell. Enes' sport utility vehicle rolled over and crashed on Elliott Street at about 2:40 a.m. on Friday. Video by WHDH-TV show the damage to the vehicle and crash aftermath, that left a pole snapped in half and dangling over the street. Pedestrian was in Crosswalk, Driver Issued Ticket

The investigation continues into a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian that was crossing Maple Street on Thursday morning.

The driver who struck a pedestrian that was crossing Route 62 on Thursday morning has been issued a traffic ticket. Danvers police said on Thursday afternoon that Gailute Urbonaite-Narkeviciene, 44, of 281 Maple St. was issued a citation for failure to yield in a crosswalk, according to Danvers Police Capt. Patrick Ambrose. Urbonaite-Narkeviciene was driving east on Route 62 in a Lexus sport utility vehicle at the time of the crash with a passenger in the vehicle. Neither of them were injured. The crash happened at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday on a section of Maple Street that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue. Pedestrian Struck on Thursday is 32-Year-Old Danvers Woman

A 32-year-old Danvers was woman seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning along Route 62.

A 32-year-old Danvers woman was seriously injured when a vehicle struck her on Thursday morning, Danvers Police said in a post on its Facebook page at 10:15 a.m. The crash occurred on Maple Street, in an area that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue at the foot of Lindall Hill at 7:30 a.m. No charges have been filed in connection with the crash. It was not immediately clear if the pedestrian was trying to cross the street at the time of the crash or whether she was in a crosswalk. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was driven by a 44-year-old woman from Danvers. She remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said. The teenager who was hit a couple years ago is the son of a good friend of mine. I was on my way to work the morning that this woman was hit. The glare is certainly an issue. But the biggest issue here is the use (or lack there of) of common sense. I have lived in Danvers practically all my life and know that part of Rt62 to have ALWAYS been an issue. Driver in Head-On Crash to be Issued Summons

One of the drivers in Wednesday's serious car crash in Danvers will be issued a summons.

One of the driver’s involved in Wednesday afternoon’s head-on crash on Route 62 will be issued a summons for operating negligently. The crash happened at 3:55 p.m. in front of the Danvers Animal Hospital when a blue 1999 Toyota Rav 4 headed eastbound crossed the centerline and slammed head-on into a white 2012 Mercedes GLK350 that was headed westbound, according to Danvers Police Chief Neil Ouellette. Police did not release the name of the driver who was issued a summons – and was also injured – or anyone else involved in the crash. There were two people in the Toyota and one in the Mercedes and Ouellette said the injuries to all three were considered “fairly serious,” based on the observations of officers on the scene.
