The forum is set for Tuesday at Stonehill College.
The three GOP candidates for U.S. Senate will face off for the first time Tuesday in Easton, according to the Boston Globe. State Rep. Dan Winslow (R-Norfolk), former U.S. Attorney Michael Sullivan and former Navy SEAL Gabriel Gomez will participate in an hour-long forum starting at 7 p.m. at Stonehill College. The debate will be live-streamed on WCVB-TV’s website. The three candidates are vying for the Republican nomination in the April 30 primary. The winner will take on the winner of the Stephen Lynch-Edward Markey battle on the Democratic side of the ballot. While Congressman Stephen Lynch (D-South Boston) isn’t expected to make a formal announcement until later Thursday afternoon, a new Stephen Lynch for Senate Facebook page popped up Thursday morning with a link to a “Stephen Lynch for US Senate Announcement” YouTube video that announces Lynch’s Senate candidacy. U.S. Senator Kerry will replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State.
The U.S. Senate has confirmed U.S. Sen. John Kerry as the new Secretary of State. With only three dissenting votes, the Senate vote came on Tuesday afternoon. Kerry will take over for Hillary Clinton, who is leaving her post after four years. The move means Kerry will have to resign as a U.S. senator from Massachusetts, paving the way for a special senate election.
