5 Things To Know on Dec. 12: Menorah Lighting at the Mall

Sun: Yippee, the forecast on Wednesday calls for sun from start to finish with temperatures into the low 40s. 2. Menorah Lighting: The lighting of the Grand Menorah at neighboring North Shore Mall in Peabody will happen on Wednesday night. The Hanukkah party for all ages will run from 4:30-6 p.m. with everything from latkes and donuts to face painting and arts and crafts. It happens in the J.C. Penney wing. 3. PHOTOS: Giving Garden Opens for the Holiday Season

The Giving Garden at Liberty Tree Mall allows shoppers to buy an item listed on an ornament for someone is need.

The Giving Garden opened at Liberty Tree Mall on Monday, with five trees that are dedicated to support five different charities and organizations.  The organizations are Haven from Hunger, Operation Troop Support, Salvation Army, Toys for Tots and Hyundai Village of Danvers. Each tree contains ornaments of wishes specific to the organization. Shoppers can help bring a smile to someone in need by purchasing an item listed on the ornament. Give Back: Toys for Tots Local Drop-Off Locations

A map of local places to donate this holiday season.

The Toys for Tots annual drive is underway and there are several locations close by to drop your toys off. Bring new, unwrapped toys to the drop-off locations.  The age group that is most needed is age 0-2 and 11-14 years-old. For more information on Toys or Tots check their Web site.
