Trash and recycling pickup will not be completed on Friday in Danvers.
Trash and recycling collection in Danvers was suspended on Friday morning because of safety concerns. The Danvers Department of Public Works made the announcement at 10:27 a.m. on Friday. "If your Friday trash and recycling has not been picked up yet, please take it in," the DPW said in its alert. Any trash and recycling that was not picked up on Friday will be picked up on Monday. "Please have it out by 7 a.m. on Monday, March 11," the DPW said. Initially, the DPW said that trash pickup would happen on Friday and some pickup did happen. But the safety concerns related to the snowstorm prompted it to be halted.
The overnight snowstorm has prompted some residents to ask whether trash pickup will still happen on Friday.
Editor's note: This story has been updated. Trash delivery was suspended on Friday morning. Trash collection will happen as usual on Friday in Danvers, according to the Department of Public Works. Crews from JRM Hauling and Recycling are out and about on Friday morning making collections. At least one resident said on the Danvers Patch Facebook page that her trash had already been collected at about 7:30 a.m.
