Sun: Another great fall day is in store on Friday with sunny skies forecasted along with temperatures again into the 40s. 2. VIDEO: Danvers Honors Role of Female Veterans

Danvers held its Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday at the Senior Center where the role of females in the armed forces was honored.

Kristine Babcock, a Danvers High School graduate and Gulf War Era veterans of the U.S. Navy, was the keynote speaker at Monday's Veterans Day observance at the Danvers Senior Center. The audience filled the senior center and also included important contributions by the Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, plus the Danvers Alarm List. The video above overs a snapshot of the observance.

Warm: Monday is forecasted to be a spectacularly beautiful mid-November day, with temperatures well into the 60s and sunny skies. 2. Veterans: Veterans will be honored in Danvers on Monday at the Senior Center, will the ceremonies starting at exactly 10:58 a.m. with a two minute drum roll followed by a gun salute by the Danvers Alarm List. When and Where are Veterans Day Ceremonies?

Veterans Day Ceremonies in Danvers will happen on Monday, Nov. 12.

The Danvers Veterans Council will conduct Veterans Day Ceremonies on Monday, Nov. 12 at the Danvers Senior Center. The ceremonies will start at precisely 10:58 a.m. with a two minute drum roll followed by a gun salute by the Danvers Alarm List. The public is invited to attend the ceremonies honoring all veterans who served. The guest speaker will be Kristine Babcock, a 10-year veteran of the U.S. Navy. It is appropriate, organizers say, that the guest speaker is a female during the 100th anniversary year of the Girl Scouts of America. She served during the Panama and early Gulf War eras, much of the time at Naval Air Station, Keflavik, Iceland. Youth Soccer Refs Volunteer for the Troops

Danvers Youth Soccer Youth Refs donated their weekend to officiate at the Saluting Soldiers Tournament, to benefit Operation Troop Support.

This week’s Whiz Kids are a group of seven Danvers youths who played an integral role in Danvers Youth Soccer’s sixth annual Saluting Soldiers Festival this past weekend, Saturday November 12 through Sunday November 13. Sam Chambers, Drew Larsen, Ethan Smith, all 16, Matt Kidney, 15, Patrick Duffill, 13 and 12-year-olds Max DiBiase and Emily Smith are all involved in the Danvers Youth Soccer Program, as players who also referee games. They are typically paid per diem, but in the spirit of the Festival, these youngsters donated their time and officiated the games for free, which will help provide shipping costs for Operation Troop Support care packages and gifts going overseas to our soldiers this holiday season. Each November 11, we offer our respectful remembrance and gratitude towards those who have fought for our freedoms, the American Veterans of all wars. Armistice Day was first observed in 1919 following the end of WWI, or The War To End All Wars. The official name was amended in 1954 to Veterans Day after WWII and the Korean War to further include and honor American veterans of all wars, for their courage, patriotism, and willingness to serve and to sacrifice. As we stop to honor those who have fought and fallen, there are ways we can offer support to our men and women in uniform today.
