Danvers Man Survives Crash That Kills Fellow Motorcyclist

James Dibenetto of Danvers suffered non-life-threatening injuries after the motorcyclist he was riding with was killed in a crash in Maine on Sunday.

A motorcyclist from Danvers is expected to be OK after a man he was riding with was killed when their two motorcycles crashed in Maine over the weekend, according to WCSH-TV. Girard Blais, 62, of Hampton, N.H. was killed instantly in the crash on Route 109 in Acton, Maine around 5 p.m. Sunday. Blais and James Dibenetto of Danvers were reportedly driving beside each other when their motorcycles collided, sending Blais into a guardrail. Dibenetto suffered non-life-threatening injuries in the crash. Neither man was wearing a helmet. The television station says speed and alcohol are believed to have played a role in the crash. The two bikers were reportedly riding with a group from the New Hampshire Seacoast.
