There's a wide range of possibilities for snow with a snowstorm that is moving in on Saturday night.
After last weekend's blizzard, we can certaintly take it. That's most people's thinking as they look at a forecast that contains predictions of some accumulating snow on Saturday night. After the possibility of light snow on Saturday morning, about 3-6 inches of snow will accumulate on Saturday night, according to WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard. The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory. Saturday will actually start with a mix of light snow and rain that will "pester us" through the early afternoon. The more significant storm, where "90 percent of the snow" will fall, will start Saturday afternoon and last through Sunday morning. The snow will light and easily be blown around. There is a potential for significant snow accumulation with a snowstorm slated to move in on Friday.
It’s still two days away, but weather forecasters are already sounding the alarm about a snowstorm headed our way on Friday that could the the largest since Boxing Day in 2010. The storm is forecasted to arrive two days after the 35th anniversary of the Blizzard of 1978. While Friday’s storm will be nowhere near the legendary storm in the late 70s, forecasters say it could leave anywhere between 15 and 20 inches of snow in our area, and be the largest storm to hit the area since the day after Christmas in 2010. “I think it's time to prepare for the biggest storm since December 26th and 27th of 2010,” WHDH-TV chief meteorologist Pete Bouchard writes in his latest blog post. “For the snow hounds, your ship might have finally come in.” …

A small storm will move in on Sunday at about the time of the Super Bowl kickoff.
The continuing theme of storms this winter will likely continue on Sunday evening - a small storm that will likely deliver just enough snow to make the roads slippery. "It's not a biggie, or a least it won't be as it moves over us Sunday afternoon and evening," writes WHDH-TV meteorologist Pete Bouchard in his recent blog post. Cold air will move in starting Sunday night and get bitterly cold by Wednesday morning this week.
The coldest air of the winter, including temperatures that could get down to zero, are headed our way starting Sunday night, according to meteorologists. The coldest stretch of weather will be Tuesday night - Thursday morning," writes WHDH-TV meteorlogist Chris Lambert in his blog. 'Expect near zero degrees readings in the morning, and teens for highs Wednesday afternoon." The annual warm-up known as the "January thaw" is moving in this weekend.
A "January thaw" is moving in, according to meteorologists at WHDH-TV. "Our annual January Thaw is upon us for the next several days," Ch. 7 meteorologist Jeremy Reiner posted in his blog on Tuesday. For the past three days, the entire staff of the Ch. 7 "Weather Center" has been blogging about the mild temperatures. Typically, the January thaw happens between Jan. 20-26 and is happening slightly earlier than usual this year, Reiner said. But it will be a thaw in what has already been a mild winter. Two separate storms forecasted to move across Danvers next week could drop accumulating snow, with a greater chance later on in the week.
A two part winter storm that could first move in on Sunday and last through Thursday could possibly bring some of the first measurable snow of the winter to Danvers. Pete Bouchard, chief meteorologist at Patch news partner WHDH-TV, said in a blog post Wednesday that the first storm from Sunday afternoon through Monday will have light precipitation. And that favors a greater chance of "wet than white," since heavy precipitation can pull in its own cold air.
