Valuable Car Part Targeted by Thieves

There's been two separate cases of stolen catalytic converters in Danvers in recent days.

Catalytic converters contain valuable metal that are worth several hundred dollars, and that's likely why they have been targeted by thieves in at least two ooccasions in recent days in Danvers. The first theft was reported on Monday at Danversport Yacht Club and again on Tuesday outside HomeGoods. In both cases, the theft happened from a sport utility vehicle. The part sits under a vehicle and is required by law. It helps reduce the toxicity of a vehicle's emissions. On Monday, a driver told Danvers police that they had parked their SUV in the parking lot at Danversport Yacht Club on Saturday. While they were inside someone stole the vehicle's catalytic converter. And on Tuesday, a driver called police from HomeGoods at Danvers Plaza on …

Bride's Mother, Charged After Wedding Last Year, Misses Another Court Date

The mother facing charges after a wild wedding fight last year has missed another Salem District Court date.

The mother of a bride charged in connection with a wedding fight last year at Danversport Yacht Club missed a court date Friday, reports the Salem News. Darlene DeIorio of Revere was arrested after the wedding reception last April and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. She was scheduled for a hearing in the case at Salem District Court on Friday but did not show up, the News reported, adding that her attorney told a reporter that DeIorio is "bad with dates." It was not the first time that she allegedly missed a court date, the paper said. State Troopers from three North Shore barracks joined Danvers Police last spring to help control the situation at the wedding reception, that also included the arrest of an 18-year-old …

Three weeks into her first term in office, state Senator Joan Lovely addressed small business owners from the North Shore on Friday.

State Senator Joan Lovely addressed dozens of North Shore small business owners on Friday, identifying constituent services and an effort to drop the statue of limitation on child sex abuse as top key focuses. Lovely, a Democrat from Salem, was elected last November and has been in office for 23 days. She takes over for Frederick Berry, the former Senate Majority Leader who served for 30 years before retiring. Timely response to constituents is "crucial," she told the North Shore Business Forum as it gathered for breakfast at Danversport Yacht Club. Northeast Arc Puts on Christmas Party for Participants in Day Services Program

More than 250 people attended Northeast Arc's Christmas party for individuals served by the Day Services division.

The Northeast Arc hosted a Christmas party last week at the Danversport Yacht Club for individuals served through the agency’s Day Services program. The event has become an annual tradition. Day Services provide a broad range of employment and day habilitation services for adults with disabilities, transition services for high school students with disabilities, and services like document destruction for the business community. More than 250 individuals served by Northeast Arc’s Day Services program were at the party to kick off the holidays with the organization.
