Let us know what you think would best go in empty retail space on Route 1 south.
There is empty retail space in the shopping plaza at 110 Newbury St. (Route 1 South). The plaza is called Centre Street Village. It has been home to Each Peach Cafe, which closed in May, and Wild Birds Unlimited, which moved to a new home in Danvers Plaza Shopping Center, next to Stop and Shop. Also in the plaza is Centre Street Pizza, NMTW Credit Union and White Hen. In addition to be accessible from Route 1, it has a rear driveway leading to Armory Road. According to an online real estate listing, and fact sheet from the property owner, Linear Retail, says that the Each Peach space is 1,171 square feet and the Wild Birds Unlimited space is 1,636. Each Peach Cafe on Route 1 said farewell to Danvers yesterday; find out what's next for the organic cafe.
After a year in Danvers, Each Peach Cafe closed its doors on Wednesday, May 16. We stopped by for a quick five Q&A with cafe owner, Augusta Barstow. What were some of your favorite moments at the cafe this year? Every time a customer said I helped them with their health...that was the true goal, so that's when it felt the most rewarding. What were some of the biggest challenges as a new business in town? Location. What are your plans once you say goodbye to Each Peach? No plans! Any ideas that come into my head go on a board. The cafe opened in May 2011.
Each Peach Cafe, an organic cafe located in the Centre Street Plaza on Route 1, announced it will be closing its doors on May 16. Owner Augusta Barstow announced the news on the cafe's Facebook page: It's the final curtain call for Each Peach Cafe. What an incredible journey. Opening last May with my dear friend Lori, and all of the amazing new friends I've had the privilege of making over the past year; I am truly blessed. I love this oasis we, you and I, created on Route 1 for awhile. I want to express a tremendous thank you to all of the Each Peach customers, suppliers, friends and family. Tonight Each Peach Cafe will host an open mic night at 8 p.m. Doors open at 7:30 p.m.
After being awarded an entertainment license at last week's Board of Selectmen Meeting, Each Peach Cafe will host an Open Mic Night tonight at 8 p.m. Lori Greenslade and Augusta Barstow began the Open Mic Night earlier this summer as a trial with mostly friends and family. "When we realized that it was something that could be more, we wanted to go through the proper channels," said Barstow. Hosted by singer Derek Bergman, acoustic music, poetry, and even a ten-year-old magician have signed up to perform. Barstow said they are looking to get a piano for the future. Casual, fun, safe, laid back, and relaxed were all words used by the owners to describe Open Mic Night. Since the cafe doesn't offer alcohol, Greenslade noted that it is a nice …
