A man broke into a Danvers home on Thursday while a resident was home.
Police scoured a Danvers neighborhood for a suspect in a midday home break-in on Thursday. It all started at about 12:30 p.m. when police received a call from a resident on North Street, near Calumet Road, reporting that someone was breaking in to her home. “The homeowner was home when someone tried to break-in,” said Danvers Police Capt. Patrick Ambrose. The homeowner was not injured. The suspect got away and police continued to investigate, as of Thursday afternoon. “We believe the suspect was able to get back to the vehicle,” Ambrose said. A man in a grey Jeep is being sought in connected to an attempted break-in on Thursday afternoon on North Street.
Danvers police are on the lookout for a gray Jeep Cherokee with a handicapped placard possibly connected to a house break-in, according to a Tweet from Danvers police on Thursday afternoon. The Jeep was being driven by a blonde white female. The break-in happened near North Street and Calumet Road. There may possibly be a white man in the vehicle as a passenger, police said. He was last seen wearing a Patriots sweatshirt, police said. The first tweet was sent at 12:42 p.m. At 1:15 p.m. police were still in the area searching for the suspect and investigating the break-in. A Danvers man and Stoneham woman were arrested for attempting to break into a home on in North Reading on Thursday.
After receiving a tip from a resident, North Reading police arrested a Danvers man and an alleged female accomplice for an attempted break-in Thursday. According to police, around 2:30 p.m. Thursday, a Marblehead Street resident in North Reading reported that he saw a suspicious male and female walking behind a neighbor's home. Police responded and saw the male and female matching the description given by the resident. Both of them attempted to run, police said, before complying with the officers. After an investigation, police were able to determine that the male and female had attempted to break into a home on Marblehead Street and were interrupted when officers arrived, police said.
