Local Businesses Collect for Japan Relief Efforts
The need for charitable aid to support relief efforts in Japan continues. A number of local businesses in town are working with the Red Cross to collect money for those efforts.
Earlier this week, the Japanese government raised the state of alert level at the Fukushima-1 nuclear power plant to its highest, as radiation continues to leak into the atmosphere, ocean and groundwater. Japanese officials say the situation remains “unpredictable” at this time while the government is taking every measure available to prevent complete disaster. Tens of thousands of evacuated residents who lived near the plant, which was severely damaged in the earthquake and ensuing tsunami on March 11, are being told their displacement will be long-term. In light of the ongoing catastrophe, the need for waves of charitable aid continues. Many Americans are among those rallying to the cry for help by initiating various fundraising efforts …

Hi, I was inspired by your article about raising money for Japan relief that I opened a shop on Etsy to raise money for relief efforts in Japan through the Red Cross.
