Woman Struck, Injured Crossing Mall Road

A Peabody woman was taken to Beverly hospital after the Thursday night crash on Commonwealth Avenue.

A woman that police said was dressed in all back from head-to-toe was struck by a vehicle and injured on the road around Liberty Tree Mall on Thursday night, according to Danvers police. It happened at 6:24 when the woman was trying to cross from Dick's Sporting Goods to Liberty Tree Mall. The victim, a 45-year-old woman from Peabody, was taken by Lyons ambulance to Beverly Hospital with non life-threatening injuries, said Sgt. Robert Bettencourt, Danvers police spokesman. She was crossing the road by herself. "The driver stated they never saw her," Bettencourt said. The driver has not been charged or ticketed in connection to the crash. The victim had black clothes on and was also carrying a black bag. There is not a crosswalk in the area…

Injured Pedestrian Has Been Released from the Hospital

The Danvers woman who was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle on Maple Street late last month has been released from the hospital.

The 32-year-old Danvers woman who was seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle in a Maple Street crosswalk in late November has been released from the hospital. There are few other details available about the condition of Zahra Amjadi, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the Nov. 29 accident. Ryan Donovan, a spokesman for Massachusetts General Hospital, said Amjadi has been released but no further details were available. She was taken to Mass. General by Boston MedFlight helicopter after the 7:30 a.m. crash. Police said this week that the investigation into the crash is ongoing. Danvers police Capt. Pedestrian was in Crosswalk, Driver Issued Ticket

The investigation continues into a crash that seriously injured a pedestrian that was crossing Maple Street on Thursday morning.

The driver who struck a pedestrian that was crossing Route 62 on Thursday morning has been issued a traffic ticket. Danvers police said on Thursday afternoon that Gailute Urbonaite-Narkeviciene, 44, of 281 Maple St. was issued a citation for failure to yield in a crosswalk, according to Danvers Police Capt. Patrick Ambrose. Urbonaite-Narkeviciene was driving east on Route 62 in a Lexus sport utility vehicle at the time of the crash with a passenger in the vehicle. Neither of them were injured. The crash happened at 7:30 a.m. on Thursday on a section of Maple Street that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue. Pedestrian Struck on Thursday is 32-Year-Old Danvers Woman

A 32-year-old Danvers was woman seriously injured when she was struck by a vehicle on Thursday morning along Route 62.

A 32-year-old Danvers woman was seriously injured when a vehicle struck her on Thursday morning, Danvers Police said in a post on its Facebook page at 10:15 a.m. The crash occurred on Maple Street, in an area that is also Route 62, near the intersection with Burley Avenue at the foot of Lindall Hill at 7:30 a.m. No charges have been filed in connection with the crash. It was not immediately clear if the pedestrian was trying to cross the street at the time of the crash or whether she was in a crosswalk. The vehicle that struck the pedestrian was driven by a 44-year-old woman from Danvers. She remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators, police said. The teenager who was hit a couple years ago is the son of a good friend of mine. I was on my way to work the morning that this woman was hit. The glare is certainly an issue. But the biggest issue here is the use (or lack there of) of common sense. I have lived in Danvers practically all my life and know that part of Rt62 to have ALWAYS been an issue. Hit and Run Accident Sends Pedestrian to Hospital

The accident happened just before 8 p.m. Friday.

A hit and run accident on Rt. 114 sent one pedestrian to the hospital where the person is listed in serious condition, according to police. Just before 8 p.m. Friday, police responded to the scene near Garden Street. Witnesses said the person was struck and the vehicle - a grey, 2008 GMC Sierra left the scene. Within a half hour, Ipswich Police pulled the suspected vehicle over on Rt. 1. The vehicle had heavy front hood and grill damage according to reports. Police placed the driver in custody.
