Windchills to -18 Prompts Warning on 'Heightened Threat of Frostbite'

The windchill factor could drop as low as -18 degrees on Thursday night and it has prompted a wind chill advisory.

The wind chill factor could get as low as -18 on Thursday night, the National Weather Service warns. The temperature combined with wind gusts will be so dangerously low that the National Weather Service has issued a wind chill advisory that runs from 7 p.m. on Thursday through 10 a.m. on Friday. The advisory extends across most of eastern and central Massachusetts, including Danvers. An advisory is issued when wind chills are expected between -15 and -24 for at least 3 hours. The weather service said that there is a “heightened threat of frostbite or hypothermia” for anyone that will be outside on Thursday evening and early Friday morning.
