ReplyI do business on a regular basis in Salem, Beverly, Danvers & Peabody and have found the Board of Selectmen in Danvers great to work with. They have a genuine interest in the greater good for the community and it's a well respected group of leaders. I'm sure they'll find the right person to join the team.

How does any of this "makes the town look horrible and cheap" when it's positioned on a commercial strip not anywhere near residential?

I sold that one too! LOL
I tried to get Starbucks to take that space and they just took too long. The Thai restaurant is doing very well.

ReplyAs a commercial real estate broker, I think it's a good thing. A good thing for the economy because vacancy is filled and meals taxes are being paid. It's also a good thing for the consumer because it increases traffic flow with everything being clustered. The consumer has a choice between the aforementioned establishments, Kelly's or Five Guys whom are also extremely close to this "stretch" or they can choose something more healthier & social and go to Matty's or Sylvan Street. But the key is higher consumer spending and less traffic. This "stretch of land" offers both.

Reply51 Needham Rd, Danvers is otherwise known as Hutchinson Drive. The vacant building is next to Hollywood Hits and behind BJ's.

ReplyNo I think you took it the wrong way. My previous comment from last night was directed toward the family and a little history on that area. My comment this morning was directed specifically to you and that other guy, whom it seemed you have a history with. I'm not sure where you are seeing ignorance toward the family or situation on my part. I am unaware of any political rants present online with the exception of forums such as facebook or twitter. But I'm not exactly one who pays attention to politics either. I think your comment in response was OK with the exception of the very end. The Bettencourt family..." sounded very public office like. Thats all. Sorry to offend you, which it clearly did since your response to me was curt and immature, especially the last sentence. You clearly haven't read the entire thread and made my response about you and only you. Another political trait.

Reply@Sean your response sounds like you work for the DPW. @Rick your response to it sounds like you are in or running for public office. Just sayin...

ReplyThat is too bad. A kid I knew growing up died in that same spot back in 1989. A drunk driver rear ended his fathers car, which was parked directly behind his, as he was filling up his gas tank. His dad witnessed the whole thing as he was standing right next to his son who was between the cars. Horrible story...
