Native of Danvers and Middletown, R.I.

Paula’s mother, the late Marjorie Watters Murray, was the second woman to be elected Selectman (rather Selectwoman) in Danvers and the first to become chair of the board. During Murray’s tenure, she had a hand in naming two or three schools, working on the design for the police station and getting the water treatment plant built.

Murray’s husband, the late Ret. U.S. Navy Lt. Cmdr. Francis H. Murray, served in the Korean War, Bay of Pigs and Vietnam. Paula’s biological father, Don Kingsley, was an actor, radio disc jockey and announcer. A Korean era veteran, he helped found the North Shore Players.

Paula married Ret. Capt. Samuel C. Noyes in 1994 and they have eight grandchildren from 20 to 2. They live in Paula’s great-grandfather’s house on the island — near the Mill Pond — and have three dogs and two cats. Paula edits a newsletter for Calvary Church and in the past has written for the Danvers Herald. Paula is a former social worker and Pre-school Teacher and has a Master's in Education and Counseling from B.U.  Paula sings in a church choir, knits prayer shawls and draws and paints a bit.
